HI009 Franklin Sessions Two

Harlem & Irving proudly releases Franklin Sessions Two, the second of 4 EPs in the Franklin Sessions series. Producing as Harlem & Irving Presents, label co-founders Bob Davies and Brian Kelly gathered in upstate New York during the spring of 2021. The duo hunkered down over the course of a long weekend with a SOMA LYRA-8, Moog DFAM, ASM Hydrasyth, Gecho Loopsynth and various effects pedals to produce over two dozen demos. Upon returning to their respective homes, the duo sorted, sampled, and reworked the demos into 8 fully realized compositions. Franklin Sessions Two presents 2 of these tracks.

The first track Franklin 17 bubbles up as water passes over the stones of a brook and shimmers into consciousness, eventually folding in on and over itself as subs and field recordings create an engaging and soothing sonic field. Franklin 8 drones, chugs, builds, and eventually explodes into a blissful kaleidoscopic crescendo that seems to concurrently descend and ascend, until all that’s left are impressions of what was.
