Later 2021…
Hello friends,
As 2021 comes to a wrap, we’re grateful you decided to spend some time with Harlem and Irving this year. Working together now for close to 30 years, we’re excited to share our music with you and look forward to more to come in 2022. Before we go there, a quick recap of our activity for the year.
For all the lovers, we digitally released Both Hands by Harlem and Irving Presents on Valentine’s Day. Built around three movements, the tracks move through 128 BPM floor ready bass music, to paranoid analog minimalism, to melancholic, life affirming shoegaze.
For all the heads, we released a remastered version of ERD.00:14421-023Z by rehab. Originally released in the late 90s on Endpoint, the remastered version is available digitally and as a limited edition cassette. Although the material was realized 23 years ago, the album still stands as a stunning snapshot of the shifting musical landscape of 90s experimental underground music.
We continued the Harlem and Irving Mix Series with sets from our good buddy Leech and label partners Bob and Brian. Also, Brian dropped an H&I mix for m50’s etc radio stream and a nice ambient mix for Peak Oil’s monthly Tipping Point series. Today on New Year’s Day, Brian releases HIMix 008 just in time for your new year chill and meditation sessions.
Finally, we launched harlemandirving.com, where you can learn more about the label, artists, releases, etc.
Coming up for the label in 2022, keep an eye out for:
The Harlem and Irving debut of ambient and experimental artist Erik Lynd. “Written on Rust” will be available digitally and on limited cassette on January 21, 2022.
After several production delays, label partner Brian will unearth his Supplement moniker with a ***vinyl*** and digital release, Revision.
Harlem and Irving Presents returns with the Franklin Sessions… more info to come.
HIMix series guest appearances by selector Michael Sommers and label partners Bob and Brian.
So stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted on the goods. Our utmost gratitude for the love and support. We wish you and yours all the best and here’s hoping for a brighter 2022!
XO,
Bob and Brian
